Melanie started working at BHSAH as a volunteer when she returned home after graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Animal Science. She worked as a technician from 2005-2008, and last year became hospital manager. Melanie takes a real interest in every patient and client that is a part of BHSAH and values the amazing relationships she has made as a result of her time here. She finds an unmatched joy from taking in abandoned or injured animals and giving them their second chance. The only thing she loves as much as animals is photography and can often be seen toting her old Nikkormat 35mm around the hospital. She lives in Echo Park with her dogs Scout, Marshmallow, Nocci, and Penny, as well as her cats Barnaby and Pip Pip.
